7:45am - Power went out late last night - came back on around 2am. Wasn't sure if I would watch the sunrise this morning, as is my birthday tradition, but Ole Sol shone brightly through the window to awaken me. It's a beautiful day. Gonna be a scorcher - 98 forecast today, the hottest day of 2010 (so far)!

To my grandmothers - I pray that someday, I will be as good a grandparent to my grandchildren as you were to me. I love you, my Nannies, with all my heart.

And to the 2 great-grandmothers who blessed my life, I pray that I live long enough to touch the lives of my great-grandchildren with the love with which you touched mine. Great-grandma Thomas and Great-grandma Brown, I love you.
